Perfect Subjunctive

The perfect subjunctive is usually formed periphrastically with the appropriate voice of the perfect participle and the active subjunctive of ἐσ/, “be.” For instance:

     “if ever she has released…”

     “if ever we remember…”

However, we also find (though rarely) predictable perfect subjunctives, like this:

Perfect Active Subjunctive, λιπ/, “leave”

SingularPlural

The base λιπ/ marks perfect aspect in the active with short o-grade. Thus it appears as λελοίπω, not *λελίπω.

Perfect Middle or Passive Subjunctive, μνα/, “recall”

SingularPlural

* After intervocalic σ drops, /ηαι contracts to /ῃ.
