Sigmatic Aorist Active Participle
Introduction
To form the sigmatic aorist active participle, we take the sigmatic aorist stem, add /αντ/, and decline. The α connecting vowel in /αντ/ is not a theme vowel and can’t lengthen. So to mark the masculine nominative singular we add /ς:
κτέν/σ/αντ/ς > κτείνας (masculine nom. sing.)
κτέν/σ/αντ/ > κτεῖναν (neuter nom. sing.)
κτέν/σ/αντ/ος > κτείναντος (masculine or neuter gen. sing.)

The feminine participle uses the /Jα/ marker:
κτέν/σ/αντ/Jα/ > κτείνασα (feminine nom. sing.)
κτέν/σ/αντ/Jα/Lς > κτεινάσης (feminine gen. sing.)
