Athematic Aorist Active Participle
Introduction
The athematic aorist active participle is formed by adding /ντ/ directly to the base. Because there is no theme vowel to lengthen, the masculine nominative singular is marked by /ς:
βά/ντ/ς > βάς (masculine nom. sing.)
βά/ντ/ > βάν (neuter nom. sing.)
βά/ντ/ος > βάντος (masculine or neuter gen. sing.)
MASCULINE OR NEUTER

The feminine uses the /Jα/ marker:
βά/ντ/Jα/ > βᾶσα (feminine nom. sing.)
βά/ντ/Jα/Lς > βάσης (feminine gen. sing.)
