Introduction

The aorist passive indicative is translated in this way:

     …τῇ ναυμαχίᾳ τῇ πρὸς Ἀλέξανδρον ἐνικήθητε…
     …you were defeated in the naval battle against Alexander…

The verb ἐνικήθητε above is segmented like this: ἐ/νικα/θη/τε.

The marker of the aorist passive is /θη/ or /η/. Your textbook may say that the marker is /θ/, but this is incorrect.

To conjugate the aorist passive, use default athematic personal markers:
